Bama Bombs

I heard about these when reading reviews for the book RammerJammerYellowHammer by Warren St. John. The book documents a season hanging out with Alabama Crimson Tide football fans. One of the more discussed aspects of the book is "bama bombs", a potent snack very much in the tailgate tradition.

The recipe is simple-combine a large jar of maraschino cherries and pure grain alcohol, letting them marinate for "one whole offseason". Be sure and pour about half the maraschino juices out of the original container, not the entire stock.

I haven't tried this recipe but it sounds yummy, and I may make an abbreviated version soon just for kicks.
