Bama is going to open it up on MSU. MSU can't hold on much longer. Now how did the SEC, when it made up the schedule, end up with that as its premier mathup?
USC is better than Alabama--I don't think anyone would argue against that. But, given what we've seen today, is anyone really going to say that UCLA, Oregon, and Cal can beat anyone? Those teams are the next best in the Pac 10 (apologies, SK--I'd put ASU 5th), but none of them look too capable. I'd take 'Bama against any of them and like my odds--and I think 'Bama might be the 4th best team in the SEC (LSU, Georgia, Auburn).
Is the Pac 10 a 1-team league? I don't think so, but given that every argument about the greatness of the Pac 10 relative to the SEC seems to reference them (and usually, their win over 0-5 in the SEC Arkansas), it's hard to argue against the claim.
Miami was great in the early part of the decade, but the rest of the Big East was rubbish and no one with any sense argued that it was legit. If there's no depth, I don't care if USC is 1995 Nebraska--it doesn't make the conference good.
One last thing--I just got through watching a good bit of the Oregon State-Washington game, and that shit was every bit as unwatchable as anything you'll ever see in the SEC. Got-almighty-damn it was hideous.
They will need to use their supposed brains to figure out how in the world the Hokies can get to the Rose Bowl after they lose to Miami.
This season, though, he has been a complete joke. He never says ANYTHING that is remotely insightful.
To wit, early on tonight he claimed the VT fans were smart because they were loud when Miami had the ball, but not so loud when VT had the ball. Does this pass for analysis? WTF, ESPN?
Keep it going; I had VT -6' tonight, so I need something to make me laugh.
