CFR
Heh... Fowler called the scene the "Heisman Frathouse"
CFR
66% of ballots received after 12/6
CFR
First segment, brief interview with the candidates from the green room. Nothing too spectacular said.
CFR
John Heisman's family name was really Von Bogart... interesting
CFR
Cool feature on the service academy Heisman winners, and Glenn Davis
CFR
Matt Leinart feature now...
Theme is coming back, all the winning he's done, always trying to get better.
Best college QB, maybe, of all time.
CFR
Vince Young feature now...
Theme: leadership.
Getting out of gangs. Starts mentoring, getting in right direction. Relating to kids.
Mack Brown says VY has become his role model.
CFR
Reggie Bush segment...
Tried to become "true" tailback. Most dangerous when team was most in danger (so true!).
302 YPG vs. ranked foes! 10 yds/rush, 10 TDs.
High school tapes, connection to LaDainian Tomlinson, how hard to work. Carroll: "he kicked Reggie's butt in workouts, and Reggie was kind of shocked by that".
Bush feels "annointed to play football", changed his outlook on the game.
619 explained.
"One of the finest running backs to play high school"
Another San Diego Heisman back (Allen, Williams, Salaam, Bush).
CFR
And the winner is... (presented by William J. Dockery, Heisman Trust President)
I love this kind of stuff, as an aside. So exciting...
Some credit given to the nominees, representing their schools, their families, themselves...
Most exclusive fraternity in the world "Heisman Trophy winner"
And it goes to...
Reggie Bush!
CFR
He's beaming. You can tell he wanted to be a part of this scene.
"Re-gie" chants in the background.
CFR
Thanks family, and second family, USC
CFR
784 first place votes, 69 second for Young.

Ken Dorsy won a lot, but wasn't the superstar that Leinart is.
Charlie Ward had two great years.
Eric Crouch was 1/2 QB 1/2 RB, plus he was such a bust in the NFL (I know I know, best college QB) that his career seems a little tainted.
Wuerffel (is that even how it's spelled?) had an ok run, but nothing like Leinart.
Tommy Frazier was sure fun to watch and also had a good run.
Elway, Toretta, Montana?
Who else is on this list? Can we get a CFR post dedicated to this at some point during the offseason?
Sure!
Its a GREAT offseason discussion to have.
I think Leinart's at another level, so we have to compare him to the revolutionaries, Baugh, etc.
