CFR's Top Teams List: Week Seven
Monday, October 16, 2006 at 12:44PM As always, this is a power ranking.
- Ohio State---Biding their time until Michigan.
- Michigan---See above. They'll just do it without Mario Manningham.
- West Virginia---Tentatively here. Awesome rushing performance against Syracuse on Saturday.
- Tennessee---Probably the most motivated team out there.
- California---Nearly blanked Wazzou in their own house.
- Florida---Disappointing weekend.
- Auburn---Home field advantage... not so much two weekends ago (Arkansas). So much more last weekend.
- USC---At least they finally looked somewhat creative on offense. Anyone catch that fullback wheel route that went for a touchdown?
- Louisville---Brohm's back! He looked rusty, though.
- Texas---Baylor shouldn't have run pregame smack like they did.
- Notre Dame---Bye week over, second half of season begins Saturday.
- LSU---Averaging 6.5 points in games against opponents that matter, 47 in all other games. Welcome to the wacky world of Les Miles.
- Clemson---Broke 60 points for the first time this season on Thursday, flogging hapless Temple 63-9.
- Oregon---UCLA Defensive Coordinator DeWayne Walker admits he was "outschemed" by the Ducks.
- Georgia Tech---Enjoyed their bye week. Big game on Saturday against Clemson

I don't know how anybody can consider Missouri a top 25 team, especially given that their only decent win has been against Texas Tech, who proved how great they were by going out and getting creamed by Colorado.
Will Missouri still be in your list after they get schooled by an Adrian-less OU squad followed by a loss at Nebraska?
They kept a hot A&M offense from scoring despite having the ball all day and working up and down the field.
The Missouri offense was terrific for the first quarter and then just lost control. I don't know what happened, but it's probably an aberration. Keep in mind it was also a road game against a team ticked off about a last-minute loss the previous game. Neutral setting and the game might've tipped Missouri's way.
Remember, I rank teams based on how good I interpret them to be, not on quality wins or schedule strength, etc. Leave that to the college basketball nerds who have no way other of wading through 300+ teams.
What you're talking about (Oklahoma, Nebraska) is hypothetical and in the future. These rankings reflect the Missouri team as it stands right now, in week seven.
