Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 01:14PM ---Washington quarterback Isaiah Stanbeck is probably out for the year after an injury.
Their once promising season is now probably down the toilet, as they must either burn the redshirt of touted frosh quarterback Jake Locker or play the inconsistent Carl Bonnell. The Huskies were at (4-3) before the injury, thanks mostly to the fact that Stanbeck is kinda, sorta, sometimes awesome. Without their Captain, oh Captain you can now go back to your regularly scheduled ignorance of once-great Pac-10 powers.
---Miami brawl fallout
Uh, players suspended, natch. Coach Coker's fighting for his job and says he has control of the program. I'll spare you the whole heartfelt morality play stuff here.
The media rightly jumped all over this story, the university and coaching staff responded appropriately, the Miami coach is probably losing his job after this season... that's kind of how things work.
The only question left is could this have been prevented/avoided? We'll never know, but things have clearly been coming to a head for Miami for a while now, with the Peach Bowl loss, the post-game brawl in the tunnel, the terminations of several longtime assistant coaches and the Hurricanes' disastrous start to this season punctuated by the brawl.
---Oklahoma linebacker's in trouble with the law.
It sounds like he actually tried to keep a friend from doing something something crazy.
Combine that with Adrian Peterson's season-ending injury... SELL, says Jim Kramer.
---Oh, and GameDay's coming to you live from Clemson, South Carolina this weekend.
There'll be intensely colored papier mache... things nearby. Local custom or something.
