I'll briefly end my college football commentary hiatus to say that I think Matthew Stafford will bring a very nice breath of fresh air to the offense in Athens today. Even those who don't feel like he is as good as advertised have to acknowledge that having A quarterback rather than SOME quarterbacks will help. This team is too talented not to put up a few fights here in the coming weeks.

Other than the 3 interceptions, Stafford's stats today were respectable. However, there is something else going on at the Hedges.This team has not impressed me one bit this year.

C.J. Spiller, if you didn't know it already, is AMAZING.

Spiller's reception for a TD was absolutely electrifying.

As for Stafford, 63% is solid. Three picks aren't, but two of them were over 45 yards down the field. I think he'll get a little better at that. We moved the ball on O with him, which is new.

LB Amir Ismail, Western Michigan: 6 sacks (ties NCAA record for a single game with Louisville's Elvis Dumervil), and returned an interception for a touchdown.

Just so no one is confused, that game is the week AFTER this one, and both Louisville and WVU have a bye this coming weekend.
