Michigan/Ohio State

Since it appears this will be the OMG game of the year in college football, let's get an annoyingly premature jump on it.

In talking to MGo and HP a little bit about this game, I get the vibe both are leaning quite strongly towards Michigan coming away with a victory.

What's interesting is that for this year's game, there will be upwards of 40 blogs with a rooting interest.  This game will be a bonanza for the internet pundit class.

Open forum below, have at it.

I tend to agree that it's likely that UM will win the game. Motivation counts for quite a bit in the world of college football, and I see Michigan being much more motivated. They were pushed around all last year. They have been pushed around in general by OSU since Tressel came on the scene. They weren't very highly regarded by many pundits this season, and have had to prove their way to the top, while OSU was a preseason #1 and has rested comfortably on their laurels since beating Texas. I just feel they have quite a bit more to prove in this game than OSU. However, it's not as if OSU is any slouch, or that they don't also look forward to beating UM, or that Tressel is a bad coach, or that the house won't be rockin'. I wouldn't be surprised with either outcome, but I'm leaning to UM a bit.

I'm in love with Michigan's defensive line (well before their coming-out party against Penn State).

Shawn Crable is a great addition to that already fine group, he's really come alive this year and looked like the guy Michigan, Ohio State, USC and others were all drooling over.

I believe that Michigan can win it. I don't think it'll be a 47-21 blowout like it was aganst Notre Dame (and as a U of M fan, living in South Bend, I couldn't have been happier about the victory), I'm thinken maybe 19-13 or 21-14 or something like that. I really can't wait to see Michigan's overpowering defence sack Troy Smith about 7 times and pick off every pass he throws. It'll be a hell of a game, #1 vs #2, 11-0 vs 11-0, the greatest rivaly in all of sports: Michigan vs Ohio State!
