Email Dump
Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 05:29PM Sometimes things sit in my inbox as I struggle to find an appropriate time/context to post them there.
I think from now on I may just have to unload thing to share with you guys, context-free. Sound good? Great.
First item:
This is actually pretty cool. The blog tracks bowl officials, noting what games/teams they're scouting each weekend plus commentary about each team. At least, that's what they did last week. Check in later this week and hopefully the week two blog entry will be up.
The first thing I need to remind everyone is that we are now the Chick-fil-A Bowl and that we now own the rights to the first selection in the ACC after the BCS. This elevation in selection will undoubtedly keep a steady stream of top-ranked teams headed to Atlanta in late December, and we’re very excited about that fact.
The teams in the ACC that are setting themselves up for a possible selection to our bowl are Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. That’s a lot of teams, I know, but remember there are still four weeks left in the season and a lot is going to change.
On the SEC side, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU and South Carolina appear the most likely as we head into November.
Second Item:
Home Depot's "House Divided"
I'm not sure what the neighborhood associations think, but this is fun and amusing (if garish). Home Depot has found families with divided loyalties between intense college football rivals and painted their homes in the contrasting colors and motifs.
Here are some pictures below from their Auburn/Alabama and Florida State/Florida families (click on the thumbnail to get a larger image):

My contact about this hints at the arrival of more photos sometime Monday, so I'll update those to this entry if they arrive.
