year?

Supposed to be a NFL minor league consisting of 8 teams playing in college stadiums. Players are picked up 2 days after the NFL draft and must have graduated or otherwise finished their eligibility for college play.

Players are supposed to be paid around $100,000.

The season is expected to consist of 14 games played between the 2nd week of April and the end of June.

Current tie-ins are from the Big10/SEC/ACC regions. I guess this means this is where the 8 teams will be located.

I'm intrigued by this. It would be SO nice to have something to watch April-June that is essentially extended college play. It'll also help out the guys who were buried on deep teams and might have only had their senior season as a starter. If they don't get picked up by the draft they'll have another chance to prove themselves outside of Canada.

Does this mean the end of NFL Europe?

I do like the idea. Considering the apparent push to increase graduation rates, which may cause schools not to take chances on some academically marginal players, this may have some legs.
