College Football Forum > That National Title Game - Stealing Away the Cinderella story

I am a die hard pennstate fan. I graduated in 97 and was a sophomore when they got screwed by the system. I am still pissed that we all watched an unproven Nebraska team walk away as champions. Champions of what??? How can anyone be sure that they are the best in land when the system won't allow any proof?

As we all know, the current system takes the two most popular teams and places them in a title game which is supposed to crown the best in the land. Bull Sh*t.

I love college football. I love every aspect, from tailgaters who arrive for Saturday games on Thursday nights, to the entire student body, ripping down the goal post and carrying it onto JoePa's front lawn just so that when he comes back from Michigan, he will know there were a couple other people excited about a win. But the thing I love most, is that on any given day, an underdog can beat all of the odds and walk away a champion. This is what makes college football so special.

Now is the Big Ten any good? Does Penn State Deserve a shot at the title? How about Texas Tech or Alabama or how about even Utah or Ball State or Boise? Who knows? All I have to say is, the current system is stealing the most sacred part of the game from everyone who cares about the sport and someone needs to fix the problem immediately.

They should definitley have playoffs. This system is junk, and they should toss it out the window.
